Here is what’s happening in November:
Two NEW classes are beginning on Friday, November 10th and running for 6 weeks.
The first class is a BRAND NEW CLASS I AM INTRODUCING called RESTORATIVE YOGA with REIKI. This is a relaxing, supportive practice which helps to relieve chronic stress. Props are used to help the body release tension. Reiki is a healing modality that encourages a sense of calm and well-being. You will leave class feeling renewed and refreshed. Who wouldn’t want that during this hectic season? Please bring: a block, a bolster, a belt, a blanket and an eye pillow or washcloth. This class will be held at the Huntington Public Library Station Branch from 9:30-10:30. Registration begins on November 1 for residents, November 8 for non-residents. Sign up in person at the library or online.
The second class is FORREST YOGA, held at the Cold Spring Harbor Library from 11:15-12:15. The class focuses on strength, breath, integrity and spirit. Poses are held longer in sequences to help integrate emotions. To learn more about Forrest Yoga, visit www.forrestyoga.com. Register in person at the library. Non-residents welcome.
As a thank you, I invite you to join me at ATHLETA in Woodbury (8285 Jericho Take) for a FREE QiGong class followed by a FREE Acai Bowl, my new favorite thing to eat! Of course, we can shop afterwards. This complimentary class is on Sunday, November 19th from 9:30-10:30. QiGong is a meditative movement practice with ancient Chinese roots. It is a form of exercise that is both relaxing and invigorating while helping to relieve aching joints, improve mood, lower blood pressure, alleviate anxiety and reduce stress. You will be introduced to the 18 Lohan Hands, passed down from the Shaolin Temple.
Happy Thanksgiving!
