Farmingdale Public Library — Fitness Fusion (Saturdays 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 4/7, 4/14) 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
This introductory six week class series features qigong (similar to tai chi), yoga and meditation. Learn the beginning of the 18 Lohan Hands form, basic yoga postures and how to deepen your concentration with meditation techniques. Cold Spring Harbor Francis Roberts Community Center — Fitness Fusion (Tuesdays 3/20, 3/27, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15) 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Introducing the healing arts of qigong, (pronounced chee kung) yoga and meditation, this eight week class is the perfect place for beginners. More seasoned practitioners will benefit by brushing up on the basics as well. Improve mood, balance the mind and build stamina with this relaxing and invigorating class. Huntington Public Library Station Branch — Meditation (Fridays 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4) 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Learn how to quiet your mind with meditation in this eight week course. The class includes gentle movements and guided meditation techniques. Bring a mat and a block. To register, visit the Library’s website for online sign up or sign up in person at the library.
Cold Spring Harbor Library — Forrest Yoga (Fridays 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20) 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Learn to love your body and walk in beauty with this powerful practice which focuses on strength, breath, integrity and spirit. This six week series is excellent for all levels, including beginners and those who have never tried yoga. Register in person at the library.
